Privacy Policy

This policy describes information collected during a visit, the reasons it is used, the limited situations in which it may be disclosed, and the choices available to visitors. By using Logan County Criminal History, you agree to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies the result. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our systems receive basic technical information when a page loads, including:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help analytics services combine traffic data, such as which pages are visited most often and where sessions end. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route search requests to the selected partner service
  • Maintain reliable and responsive site operation
  • Identify useful pages and areas needing improvement
  • Diagnose technical faults
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site's content identifies access routes at the Logan County Sheriff, Logan County and District Courts, Nebraska State Patrol CID, and the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into third-party dossiers or consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy policies govern submitted data, retention, and sharing. Review the applicable partner policy before running a search because those practices are beyond our control.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Logan County government, Nebraska courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy terms apply. Check them before supplying personal data.

Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be disclosed to:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security, so a breach cannot be ruled out.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such data is identified, it may be requested for deletion.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may provide additional rights. Nebraska government-record access is governed by the Nebraska Public Records Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §84-712, while dissemination of government criminal-history information is limited by §29-3520 and §29-3523. Those laws govern official custodians and do not turn this private site into a government records office. Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
